Project Description
StudentMail platform is a .NET website intended to help in Microsoft Live@edu deployment.
This project is intendend to help School administrators to easily deploy Live@edu supporting solution. Currently it is a regular .NET web-site, but last release will be based on some open-source CMS, most probably on Orchard.
Basic functionality
Students
- One-place information source for Live@edu students (services description, free or trial MS products info).
- Automatic Live@edu account request (based on full name and some pin-code).
- Classmates list (customizable) and basic group mail functionality.
- Initial Windows Live ID rename
- Single Sign-On to Live@edu services and unread e-mail notification (including AJAX OWA).
- ELMS access based on legal criteria (only students from subscribed departmends will be able to access ELMS. No user provisioning from administrator's side required).
Faculty
- Easy access to managed groups list for faculty specialist with basic group mail functionality (based on database relations or manually provisioned scopes).
- Group mailings and surveys.
- Announcements
Administrators
- Automatic Windows Live ID and dynamic distribution groups provisioning.
- Customizable Windows Live ID alias template
- External Information System notification on all changes made to Windows Live ID
- Multilanguage resources.
Note: Live at Education Meta Web-Service (
http://www.laemws.net) is needed to run the site.
